The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) is developing a watershed management plan for the Kettle River in British Columbia. A Stakeholder Advisory Group is working with the RDKB to give advice on goals, issues and recommendations, based on broad public participation.
As part of this process, a survey was launched in fall of 2012 to gather input about the human uses, community values and ecological needs for water, and to understand constraints on these uses, needs and values. In addition, a special meeting titled ‘Rethinking Our Water Ways in the Kettle River Watershed’ was held in October of 2012.
This report outlines key themes and findings from the survey and special meeting results for discussion by the Stakeholder Advisory Group and other interested public.
