Water Temperature

RDKB set up water temperature monitoring on two rivers (1) Kettle River at Danville (upstream of Grand Forks) and the Atwood Bridge (downstream of Grand Forks) and (2) Boundary Creek at Greenwood.

Unfortunately – the upstream (Danville) sensor has gone missing. If anyone sees a unit similar to the photo below please return it to the RDKB (Grand Forks office: 2140 Central Avenue) or contact [email protected]. Thank you!

Water Temperature Monitoring Unit

Real Time Water Temperature can be found for three Water Survey of Canada Sites: West Kettle at Westbridge, Kettle River near Westbridge and the Granby River. If you are looking for more information on how to access this data contact [email protected].

Kettle River (Atwood Bridge)

Kettle River

The Kettle River is reaching at high as 25 °C at times during our recent heat wave. As the air temperature drops, so does the water temperature.

Boundary Creek (Greenwood)

Boundary Creek

Boundary Creek reached just above 20 °C during our recent heat spell, similar to the Kettle River, we are seeing the water temperatures drop as the air temperature starts to drop.
